Our Housing Needs Team wants to ensure that housing problems are identified early to hopefully prevent you from becoming homeless in the first place.
This will be achieved through partnership work and multi-agency working to prevent you from becoming homeless, through the necessary support intervention you may require.
On the basis that you are suffering from a mental illness or impairment we could well accept that you are vulnerable and therefore in “priority need” for accommodation. This will be determined by your personal circumstances.
We will continuously review the advice and advocacy services available to you, and will include outreach support services according to your needs through your Personal Housing Plan that will be completed in partnership with you and potentially your advocate.
We will help you to access main stream healthcare services by making the relevant referrals where necessary and by giving you or your advocate the relevant information.
Our allocations policy makes specific provision to identify if an applicant has any support needs and appropriate support could include help with bidding in finding a new home.
The Housing Needs Team will make relevant referrals to specialist services where you can access advice and guidance to support you. If you need housing advice and assistance please contact our Housing Needs Team on 01246 242424 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
