In accordance with the Regulator for Social Housing Consumer Standards, we are required to make sure our properties are good quality, well maintained, safe and meet the standard set out in the Government’s Decent Homes Guidance.
A stock condition survey of the council housing stock is going to be undertaken to help identify areas for future investment, to improve energy efficiency and ensure homes are well-maintained. The visit will be a visual inspection, and the information collected will include the age and condition of components and identify any HHSRS (Housing Health and Safety Rating System) hazards in your home. Any category 1 hazards identified by stock condition survey are escalated for immediate remediation.
The surveyors from the company will visit all 5,015 council properties to assess both the inside and outside, looking at the structure of the property and installations such as bathrooms and kitchens. The contract is due to start in August and together with the company, we will contact tenants directly in due course.
