The black bin is for everyday household waste and should be used in conjunction with the green and burgundy bins, as it is important that you manage your waste and reduce what we send to landfill.

- Calendar B covers the following towns and villages - Doe Lea, Bramley Vale, Glapwell, Pleasley, New Houghton, Stoney Houghton, Shirebrook, Langwith Junction, Tibshelf, Newton, Blackwell, Hilcote, Westhouses, South Normanton, Pinxton and all small holdings, etc, in and around these areas.

Make sure your bin is presented, with the lid shut, at the edge of your property where it meets the pavement by 6am on your collection day. No extra bags or boxes will be taken.
If your bin is missed for collection, then please report this via our Self Service portal (opens in a new window).
If you move into a new property or a property that does not have a black bin, then you must purchase one from us at a cost of £33.65 including VAT. This can be done via our Self Service portal (opens in a new window) or telephone on 01246 242424 Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays).
If, due to disability or sickness, you (or no-one else in your property) are unable to present your bin for collection, then you can apply for Assisted Bin Collections.
