We are encouraging our residents to sign up to the Priority Services Register (PSR) (opens in a new window).
The PSR can provide extra help and additional support during a power cut for the elderly, very ill or disabled people, or those who rely on power for medical equipment.
Here are some of the benefits of joining the FREE Priority Services Register provided by the National Grid:
- a dedicated and direct number you can call during a power cut,
- agree on a password with you before they visit, so you know you can trust the person at the door,
- special help through trusted partners such as British Red Cross if you need it,
- keep you up-to-date on any planned interruptions to your power supply,
- stay in touch with you during an unplanned power cut, including advice on how long it will last.
It is vitally important the elderly or vulnerable in our society receive the help and advice they need, especially during cold weather snaps. So if you have a family member of neighbour who you think would benefit from this, please encourage them to register.
