We have received reports of a licensing fee scam in which the fraudsters have contacted alcohol licence holders asserting that their licence has expired and that a renewal payment is required.

We would not contact a licence holder to demand payment over the phone. All annual fee payment requests are made via invoice and follow-up reminders which detail methods by which the licence holder can contact us to make payment are on the back of the invoice.

Should there be a requirement to do so, for example when a payment is late or a correspondence address has been changed and we have not been informed, a licence holder may be contacted by phone to investigate. Payment would not be requested or taken during this call, rather contact information would be obtained in order to redirect the invoice.
