National Allotments Week takes place between the 12 and 18 August and the National Allotment Society uses this week to encourage people to take up a plot of their own.
Now, the benefits of allotments are many including being a source of fresh fruit and vegetables, providing a valuable community asset and allowing those who tend them to improve them mental and physical wellbeing.
