A Whitwell man is turning unwanted pieces of wood into beautiful statues using chainsaws.

Ben Yeates uses small chain saws to cut large pieces of wood into animals such as owls, wolves and highland cows.

The hobby led him to turn a tree that fell in a storm into a piece of art that he hopes to place in the village for everyone to enjoy.
