A Barlborough woman has started her own business making and selling Tiny Tags.

The devices look like keychains, but they hold contact information which comes up when scanned. The idea behind the tags came from Katie’s own experiences of having children and worrying about what might happen if they were to become separated. The tags use Near Field Communication meaning they don’t need batteries. If a child needs help they can find a safe adult and ask them to scan the tag. The parent then gets an alert to tell them where the tag was activated.

The designs are colourful and fun and can be attached to bags or coats easily. Children with sensory issues can be bothered by wristbands or tags on their clothing so this tags offer the opportunity to place them out of sight and touch, allowing all children to wear one comfortably.

Creator Katie Green said: “It’s a helping hand for parents which has been designed to make it easy for children to wear and easy for parents to use. I have two children myself and it’s hugely reassuring to know that my kids have my contact info on them if it is needed.”
