Hardwick Hall is famous for having more glass than wall. But it is also renowned for its tapestries.
And none more so than the 13 tapestries that tell the story of Gideon, one of the 12 judges to appear in the Old Testament Book of Judges.
Bess of Hardwick bought them in1592 to hang in the Long Gallery and the 24-year conservation project, which cost £1.7million is now at an end. Bolsover TV (opens in a new window) spoke to Eleanor Williams, Collections and House Manager at the Hall to find out how the project went.
