To ensure all applications are assessed correctly, each applicant will need to provide one proof of identity, one proof of address, proof of National Insurance number and a bank statement that is dated within the last three months and proof of local connection.
Depending on your circumstances you may also need to provide the following documents-
- Proof of leave to remain/right to reside/asylum seeker status
- Proof of pregnancy
- Proof of Key Worker status
- Section 21 (this is issued when you have been served notice to leave)
In addition to the above, each occupant over the age of 16 will need to provide one proof of identity, one proof of National Insurance number and one proof of address. Each occupant under the age of 16 will need to provide one proof of identity e.g. full birth certificate (this must show names of parents), Child Benefit letter or Tax Credit Award letter (this must show name of occupant/child).

- HM Forces ID Card (UK)
- Disability Blue Badge with Photo ID
- Proof of Address – one per applicant required
- Financial Statement e.g. pension, endowment, ISA (must have been issued within last 12 months)
- Addressed Insurance policy documents (must have been issued within last 12 months)
- Utility Bill electricity, gas, water, telephone – including mobile phone contract (must be less than 3 months old)
- Council tax statement (UK) (must have been issued within last 12 month)
- TV licence (must have been issued within last 12 months)
- Work Permit/Visa (UK) must have been issued within last 12 month.
- Addressed payslip (must be less than 3 months old)
- Tenancy Agreement
- Credit Card statement (must be less than 3 months old)
- Mortgage statement (must be issued within last 12 months)
- Rent statement (must be less than 3 months old)
- Proof of Local Connection – one per application required
- Lived in area for 2 or more years – please refer to above list for proof of address – one of these documents need to be provided and the document must be two or more years old.
- Family to give or receive support – please refer to above list for proof of address – one of these documents need to be provided for family member to evidence their local connection along with one of the following proofs to evidence yours/their support needs:-
- Carers Allowance award letter
- Care Plan
- Supporting evidence from Social Care or other agency
- Any additional information will be considered but none of the above are conclusive and further information may be requested
- Employment within the District
- Addressed payslip (must be less than 3 months old and show hours worked and place of employment (not a Head Office address)
- Letter from Employer confirming hours and place of employment.
