Sex establishments are licensed under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982. A sex establishment can either be a sex shop, a sex cinema or a sexual entertainment venue. To run a sex establishment, you will need to be licensed by us. We have adopted a Sex Establishment Policy 2022. It is illegal to open/operate any such venue without a licence. There are no such licensed establishments in the District at this time.

You should read our Sex Establishment Policy before you submit an application. All applications would be considered by the Council’s Licensing Committee in accordance with the Policy.
