Derbyshire County Council are the lighting authority and are responsible for all street lighting on adopted highways and footpaths.

We do however, own some lighting on public car parks within our district and on some unadopted roads, footpaths or access ways. Any lighting owned by us should have a metal identification plate fixed to the column with the prefix BDC followed by a three-figure number. E.g. BDC123.
