Our taxi licensing fees are set to rise following a review of the current charges. Introduced in 2018, the existing fees no longer cover the increasing costs of administering the taxi licensing regime. As required by law, we cannot make a profit from these fees, and the proposed increases are aimed at ensuring the licensing service remains cost neutral.

The fee adjustments will affect various licences, including those for drivers, vehicles, and operators. We have advertised these changes in line with legal requirements, and the notice containing the proposed changes can be found in the local newspaper and displayed at our offices. Licence holders directly affected by the fee increases have also been contacted for their feedback directly.

If no objections to the variation are received the variation shall come into operation on 20 January 2025.
