£300 fine for fly tipping

A person from outside Bolsover District has been issued and paid a fixed penalty notice of £300 for fly tipping in the area.

An eagle-eyed resident confronted the individual who had come to Bolsover District to fly tip their waste on Hawking Lane in Stainsby in May 2024.

The resident took photos and supplied them to us so we could investigate the incident.

Upon closer inspection, the fly tipping led us to the perpetrators address, who admitted the offence and they were issued with a fixed penalty notice for £400. As it was paid within 10 days, this was reduced to £300.

Fly tipping is a crime and we will take enforcement action against all perpetrators of environmental crime in our district to keep it clean and tidy. If you witness or see any fly tipping in Bolsover District then please report this to us using our Self Service (opens in a new window) portal.
