A resident from Langwith has paid a £100 fixed penalty notice (FPN) for a littering offence.

The offender was witnessed illegally depositing a cigarette butt in Newton contrary to Section 87 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 by one of our enforcement officers in May 2024.

Littering is a crime and we will take enforcement action against all perpetrators of environmental crime in our district to keep it clean and tidy.

Littering FPNs are currently set at £150 paid within 14-days, or at a lower rate of £100 if paid within 10-days.
