To identify grants the best source of information is the government website ‘Find Ways to Save Energy in Your Home’ (opens in a new window). It has some simple to follow questions to help you identify things that you can do.

This is a grant to help you potentially get free or cheaper insulation for more information see the Great British Insulation Scheme website.
Apply for support from the Great British Insulation Scheme (opens in a new window).
Boiler upgrade scheme
This grant could cover part of the cost of replacing fossil fuel heating systems with a heat pump or biomass boiler. You can get up to £7,500 towards the cost of an air or ground source heat pump. To check if you are eligible please visit GOV.UK (opens in a new window).
Energy company obligation (ECO 4) grants
You can also get help if you claim certain benefits (plus some medical conditions) or be on a low income. The grants are managed by the energy companies, so you can speak to your energy company or any energy company taking part in the scheme.
