We deal with millions of pounds each year that help deliver our services to you. These budgets are made up of income we receive from grants, Council Tax, fees and charges and we carefully manage the money we spend on delivering services and paying precepts to the parish councils, county council and Police/Fire authorities.
The Statement of Accounts is an annual publication that sets out exactly what we have spent. This publication is designed to fit in with the latest regulations and guidance on the production of accounts for local authorities.
The Annual Governance Statement is summarised in the Statement of accounts each year. This is presented to the Audit Committee each June.

Notification of Delay in Publication of the Audited Financial Statements for 2023/24
The Accounts and Audit (England) Regulations 2015
In accordance with Regulation 10 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015, where an audit of accounts has not been concluded by the specified date, which is the 30th of September 2024, we are required to publish a notice to that effect.
The audit of the financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2024 is still ongoing. The need for the auditors to clear their backlog of work from other Councils relating to previous years’, is impacting on the timely delivery of our 2023/24 audit.
The audited Statement of Accounts will be published, together with any certificate or opinion from the auditor as soon as the audit work is concluded.
Forvis Mazars has issued a letter with the purpose of compliance with the Accounts and Audit Regulations (2015).
