Council receives hat-trick of health and safety awards

We have been awarded our third consecutive RoSPA Gold Health and Safety Award.

The award is given to organisations who work hard to ensure all staff, customers and contractors get home safely to their families at the end of the day.

By winning the award we are recognised as being a world-leader in Health and Safety practice. Nearly 2,000 entrants vie every year to achieve the highest possible accolade in the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards.

Cabinet Member responsible for Health and Safety, Councillor Duncan McGregor said, “With over 500 staff undertaking a variety of roles and jobs from bin collections to repairing properties, we take our Health and Safety responsibilities very seriously.

“We are delighted to have been awarded the RoSPA gold award for a third year running. This is testament to the hard work and dedication of both our Health and Safety team and our staff who carry out their duties on a daily basis.

“I’m really pleased that RoSPA has recognised the dedication, time and effort that our staff put into this, along with the continuous improvements that we are committed to making.”
