We have seen an increase in illegal waste collection and unlicensed waste collectors trying to take advantage of the current situation.

If you use and unlicensed waste collector, your waste is likely to end up being fly tipped and it may be traced back you, in which case you will receive a £200 fixed penalty notice.

If someone approaches you and offers to remove your waste for a fee or you arrange waste collection through social media, please CHECK that they have a valid waste carriers licence. If they don’t, DO NOT USE THEM and report them to us on 01246 242424 for advertising unlicensed waste collection.

We have issued two £200 fines over the past week to householders for failing in their duty of care to ensure they transfer waste onto someone who is authorised to carry it. Don’t let it happen to you.
